COMPANY
HISTORY
Today Reed Trucking Company
is a 3rd and 4th generation own business.
Upon incorporation in 1937 Beulah and Ralph Reed were on their way
to building a trucking legacy. The company’s roots were planted on
522 Chestnut St. in Milton Delaware where the operation remains 64
years later.
TODAY
Currently we operate 44 tractors and 65 trailers. We take pride in
saying that all of the maintenance done on Reed equipment takes
place on premises. Longtime employee Kevin Parker leads a crew of
6 mechanics and support staff to handle all our equipment needs.
The yard jockeys handle fueling tractors, pre trips, and dropping
trailers at various plants. Our office houses 5 full time clerks,
and 3 daytime dispatchers. In addition we also have 2 night
dispatchers, which makes our office staffed 24 hours a day. Our
staffing schedules allow us to support our 45 over the road
drivers at any point of their trip.
In the
fall of 2005 Reed Trucking expanded their expertise into the LTL
business. This allows us to service smaller amounts of freight
through cross docking, being more cost effective. The merger
between our LTL and truck load services allow us to fully serve
the Mid – Atlantic region. In January 2007 our LTL division moved
to its current location in Newark Delaware.
